You are invited to the annual Bamboo Festival hosted by the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the American Bamboo Society. Our members bring many varieties of bamboos to display, share and sell. If you have questions, we are there to answer them and share our enthusiasm with you. In addition to bamboo enthusiasts selling many kinds of bamboo, we will have a Rare Bamboo Gallery. The gallery will display kinds of bamboos that are rare in the trade with large easy to read signs with information about each variety. Many of the rare bamboos are clumping bamboo which are non-running bamboos. These varieties come from South America and from mountains in China.
In addition to live bamboo plants, mite-free and in pots, we will have crafted items of bamboo for dislplay and sale also.
At noon a craftsman will demonstrate how to make things with bamboo poles. At one pm our chapter president, Phil Comer, will discuss "Bamboo 101, How to live with bamboos and not have them take over your yard" and other pertinent bamboo questions.
